In simple words, outsourcing means giving your company’s work to someone outside your country, mostly to save money.

சொல்லப் போனா, outsourcing என்றால் – ஒரு நிறுவனத்தின் வேலைகளை குறைந்த செலவில் செய்யக்கூடிய வெளிநாட்டு ஊழியர்களிடம் கொடுக்குறதுதான்.

For example, instead of hiring a software engineer in the U.S. for \$60/hour, companies hire someone in India for \$20/hour.

அமெரிக்காவுல \$60/hour கொடுத்து developer வைச் சேர்ந்தா, அதே வேலை India-வில் \$20/hour-க்கு கிடைக்கும். Company க்கு huge save, இல்லையா?

 😟 What’s the Impact in the U.S.? | அதோட விளைவு என்ன?

Between 2000 and 2018, nearly **3.4 million tech jobs** were outsourced. That’s huge!

2000 - 2018 காலப்பகுதியில் மட்டும் 34 லட்சம் IT வேலைகள் வெளியூர் நாடுகளுக்கு shift ஆகிட்டது!

Some employees were even asked to **train their own replacements**. Imagine that!

India handles over **55% of global tech outsourcing** today – that’s a \$150+ billion industry!

Other countries like the Philippines, China, and Brazil are also part of this global shift.

Big names like **Microsoft, Google, Apple** are all outsourcing.

But some of them are also **investing back in the U.S.** to balance things out.
